Texas Sheet Cake
This cake is quick, easy, and delicious! My mom (Julie) and I can make this whole cake, bake time included, in 30 minutes! It is our go to chocolate cake. This recipe comes with a frosting recipe that is so good I could just sit and eat it with a spoon.
Today, my mom and I made this for my brother Bradley's 29th birthday. Nobody is too old to have cake and get sung to on their birthday!
During the whole make the cake process we came across a few struggles. It seems to be whenever we bake or cook something is bound to go wrong! After we got the cake mixed up and put it in the oven we started to worked on the frosting. (You put the frosting on the cake while the cake is still hot.) Anyway, I was heating the butter, milk and cocoa on the stovetop stirring making sure it doesn't burn. I say to my mom "I think it's burning or something." And she goes "no you just need to stir faster." In fact no, no we did not need to stir faster. Our frosting somehow separated. 🤦 We went ahead and started over on our frosting and it turned out the second time around. (Separated frosting below)
Even though we have some troubles sometimes, the cake is always delicious in the end! "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
