Cupcakes

Hello there, it has been quite some time since I've posted anything. Life has been busy and I just haven't gotten around to posting anything.  Today I made cupcakes with buttercream frosting! YUM!  Not just one flavor, no no no, but THREE! I know, I know,  a little ambitious eh? Nah, I use box mixes. 😉 Shh don't tell.  On the other hand I do make my own frosting. Nothing can beat homemade frosting. 

Devil's food cake cupcakes

The first cupcake I made is a Devil's food cake cupcake. In half of the cupcakes I snuck some milk chocolate chips into the batter. Just a little surprise for when you bite in. I was going to add them to all of the cupcakes but I forgot. 😬  The cupcakes are topped with a vanilla buttercream with shaved chocolate on top.  What could get better than that you ask? Just you wait and see. 

Funfetti cupcakes

The second cupcake I made is a Funfetti cupcake.  I love Funfetti because they are so much fun. The little sprinkles in the cake are such a cute little surprise when you bite into them. I topped the cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream and some colorful sprinkles. 

White Raspberry Cupcakes

The last cupcake I made is a white cake. I decided the cupcakes needed a little something to them. I then thought oh how about raspberries. I took the baggie of raspberries out of my freezer and crushed them up and folded them into the batter.  The frosting is again a vanilla buttercream but this time I divided the frosting in half and colored one half a light pink. I then but both colors into my piping bag and made pretty swirls on top.  

Cupcakes look intimidating but they are actually quite simple. Don't be afraid to try and make them your own.
